i dwemer sono svaniti a causa di un loro esperimento non si sa bene cosa gli sia successo probabilmente trasferiti in un altra dimensione diventati qualcosa di diverso non si sa.

In ogni gioco di Elder Scroll ho trovato divertente far l'archeologo Dwemer .
Comunque avevo trovato questo pezzo che potrebbe dar qualche spiegazione (son sempre tutte teorie però eh).
Eventually, however, tensions developed between the Chimer and Dwemer once again. A great war erupted between them, eventually leading to the mysterious disappearance of the Dwemer during The Battle of Red Mountain. The difficulty was prompted by the discovery of a mythological artifact known as the Heart of Lorkhan by the Dwemer, deep in the mountains' bowels. The Chief Tonal Architect Kagrenac, their de facto religious leader, devised a set of tools (Sunder, Keening, and Wraithguard) to manipulate the Heart to instill divinity to his people. Kagrenac used the tools during the Battle of Red Mountain caused all known Dwemer to vanish, however their fate is unknown. The most commonly accepted explanation is that Kagrenac's plan failed, but it has also been theorized that Kagrenac's plan actually did work and they simply ascended into a higher plane of existence. Whatever the case may be, since 1E 668 no word has been heard from the Dwemer, with the notable exception of Yagrum Bagarn, who resides in the Corprusarium of Tel Fyr. Apparently, he was absent from the Mortal Plane at the time of the disappearance, visiting an Outer Realm, an alternate dimension. His 3000 years of exploration and 500 years of investigation have yielded no leads on the presence of his people on Mundus or any other plane of existence currently known.
Dalle mie esplorazioni con il vampiro archeologo (dotto) e con quelle nei precedenti episodi ho sempre notato che le rovine Dwemer davano quella sensazione come di "abbandono di punto in bianco": tazze e ciotole ovunque (doveva esser ora di pranzo ), ingranaggi idem e macchinari ancora in funzione, quindi che sia stata di punto in bianco la sparizione è confermabile, che siano spariti in altra dimensione è una teoria, per quanto mi riguarda potrebbe anche esser tutta una montatura e semplicemente si son nascosti più a fondo, se c'è na cosa che ho imparato sui Dwemer (visto anche il destino toccato in sorte ai poveri elfi delle nevi traditi dai dwemer medesimi) è di non fidarsi, MAI, never!
Tral'altro la teoria del salto dimensionale non spiega come mai non ci siano ne tombe ne scheletri dwemer, il mistero continua ò.ò.

Se andate nella pietrosa Markarth c'è un museo dwemer con interessanti libri che spiegano bene fino a che punto son arrivate le teorie al riguardo (soprattutto le opere di Cancelmo), anche se sisntetizzando in soldoni si parla sempre di un possibile "transfert di massa" anche se Cancelmo dubita che sia stato effettuato nello stesso preciso istante per tutti i dwemer, ciò visto che non ci son testimonianze dal passato che lo dicano esplicitamente, fattostà che ciò capitò proprio prima che un grosso esercito falmer si riversasse a metter a ferro e fuoco le sale dei dwemer, insomma i falmer hanno sfondato le porte e trovato tutto vuoto.
